Margarita After Years

Yesterday, I went to downtown to met up with my husband and sisters-in-law Nilda and Olive.  We went to Kentizen at West Pender |St. to check out the place and for me to plan some party decorations I can do for my parents-in-law's 50th wedding anniversary that will be held on 14th of July.

After our meeting with Kenny the owner, we went back to Richmond to get some dinner.  We ate at Cactus Club and Nilda and I had Jack Daniels Ribs and Spaghettini and Olive and Luis both had Crab & Squash Ravioli which was soooo good! Then after our dessert apple pie, my sisters-in-law and I had some cocktails.  Margarita has always been my favorite, but I stopped drinking since I had Rafael so yesterday I had Margarita.  Margarita after 4 to 5 years.  I didn't get drunk but it was damn so good! Missed it totally!

Garden City Park

Last Wednesday, I decided to let Rafael skip his classes.  He was still coughing and vomiting and I was afraid that he will just be sent home just like last Tuesday.   I made a 10am appointment with our family doctor and while waiting for the clinic to open I brought my kids in Gaden City Park which Rafael refers to as "the big park."

The last time we were there, Brielle was so small and still couldn't walk, but yesterday, as soon as she saw the park she ran from me with her beach pail.  Rafael was so excited too because that was one of his favorite parks.

The fountain and the waterwheel were Brielle's favorites.  She was soaking wet when I took her.  Actually she didn't want to leave the water but the sand took her attention and even lie down. We all had fun, I loved the photos I took and all the smiles on their faces were just priceless.

White Spot Ackroyd

Another great Sunday spent with my family again today.  Rafael got a free pirate pack from White Spot when he signed up for the "reader's club" in Brighouse Library.  So after we attended mass in St. Joseph in Williams Road, Daddy Luis decided to use the coupon and had lunch at White Spot Ackroyd.  Rafael loved the pirate pack that's why he was really happy!  Brielle as usual enjoyed her fries and the ice cream.  I love Sundays!  I love being with my family.  I have to work today but I'm glad I have a 8pm - 4am shift.  I don't care if it makers me so tired, as long as I get to spend more quality time with my lovely family :)

My parents-in-law celebrated their 50th anniversary last month and since Papa (father-in-law) will be celebrating his 79th birthday this coming July 10, the family decided to have a 2 in 1 celebration on the 14th.
I asked my brother to make an invitation for the event and I'm so thankful that he did... and he did a good job as always :)

Congratulations Kevin!

Last week, Friday June 15, we celebrated Neil Kevin's graduation at Boathouse Restaurant in downtown.  He's finally done with school and currently starting his career in Royal Bank.  Congratulations again Kevin!!!
Most of his friends came including us his family.  Too bad, Papa (his grandpa) wasn't feeling well so him and Mama had to stay home.  Everybody had a good time especially with the good food served to us.

 Cheers for Kevin!

 Kevin's friends

That was the second time I tried Boathouse.  The first one was when Luis and I met up with my Aunt Minda & Uncle Bob here in Richmond.  Food was great!  I had the lobster and crab ravioli and Luis had roasted sirloin, calamari for starter and mud pie for dessert! Rafael had chicken burger and Brielle had fries!  We were pretty satisfied with thefood and the service so I'm giving them 4 stars!

The restaurant was located in front of English Bay and parking was so difficult especially during rush hour.  We parked 1 kilometer away so we had the time to walk by the beach and enjoyed the nice view on that sunny day!  I took nice photos of my beautiful kids by the beach :)  They are lovely!

 they are so cute!!!!

Another great day for my family!!!

Hubby in ER

It's 4:21 am right now and hubby is still in the emergency room.  Few hours ago, he woke me up and told me that he will be going to the ER.  He was feeling serious abdominal pain and since it was getting worse he wanted to seek medical attention.  It has something to do with his gall bladder, we both know.  His recent ultra sound result showed that his gall bladder was causing him to get bloated and causes him the pain.  Our family doctor said that it wasn't serious and no need for any surgeries nor medication.  But since he had been experiencing the same pain a couple of times more we are now open to the idea that surgery might be an option.

Oh well, I'm hoping that he's feeling better now.  I just called him and he told me that no doctor has seen him yet but the pain already subsided. We're hoping for the best this time and hopefully he'll get home soon.

Snoo's Party at Go Bananas

Yesterday, after Rafael's school, we attended his classmate Snoo's 6th birthday party at Go Bananas.  It was our first time to go there and our little boy was really really excited.  Daddy Luis came with us and we brought Brielle too!  Most of Rafa's classmates weren't able to come but Jessica S, Jessica B., Simr, Raelyn, Julia, Kavi and Cole was there -- and they all had fun playing together!  Brielle enjoyed herself in the toddler area too and for the first time she let go and went down of the slide alone! I knew she was scared but yesterday she showed mommy and daddy how brave she is.

 Happy Birthday Snoo!

finally! I got a picture of them together! Rafa with his ultimate crush Jessica!

Pizza, hotdogs, pasta, chips, japanese rice cake (like Philippines' bico) were served.  Snoo blew his hockey themed cake and everyone sang him a birthday song.  I'm glad that we came because I saw how Snoo and Rafa are close friends.

Both of the kids were too tired.  They fell asleep right away after taking a shower! It was a great day for the two of them. :)

Thrift Finds: Lamp & Cooler

Obviously I am addicted to thrift shopping right now.  So after Brielle's baby time at the library, we headed to Steveston Thrift Shop and tried to score some good buys again.  The shop never fails me to make me happy.  I always end up going home with the cheapest deal with nice stuffs.

Here's my favorite!

vintage Coleman cooler
for $3.50

planning to turn this into Rafael's toy chest
(addition to my makeover project list)

Here's another one:

 lamp! perfect for Rafa's room
just for $4.00

I've been looking for  a nice lamp for Rafa in Craigslist
for a long time now...
I just couldn't find one and prices usually
ranges from $10-$15.
Absolutely a great deal for me.

The design is also perfect!
But I'm planning to do some makeover for this...
Probably paint it white or blue.
We'll see... also in my project list.
