Panic Buying

3 boxes of Pampers Baby Dry 112 counts

Looks like it but no we don`t have any reason to panic yet.  As much as I want to maximize the use of each diaper and to be frugal with all the baby expenses -- reality is, this is how much diaper Brielle consumes in 6 weeks.  I found a good deal last Saturday in Canadian Superstore, it was on sale plus when you spend $250 you get $25 gift card.  Not bad! I  usually do my grocery shopping every 3 weeks and `considering the fact that there`s additional budget for Brielles basic needs I will definitely spend $250 in that span of time.

I try to be a wise shopper and thrifty house keeper as much as possible.  But if you need something for your kids especially me for my newborn daughter, I have no choice but to buy this much.

Care Card Arrived

Brielle's Health Care Card arrived last Monday, February 14!
Here in Canada every BC resident is enrolled
to Medical Services Plan (MSP) and is given a Care Card.
As benefits you don't pay doctor's fee,
hospital bills, x-rays, ultrasound
and many more!

A great way to get the worth of your tax.

A Night To Forget

Hubby and I had a fight last night (few hours ago).
The reason was so petty but we both ended up shouting at each other until
he got sooooo furious that he left the house in rage.
I was so shocked that I stopped crying.
I never saw him like that!!!
I was literally petrified that I didn't know what to do next
expect to breath! hahahaha
Then, he returned back then he asked sorry.
We were both wrong but he explained that we were
both stressed, him with co-worker Peona
and me with all the household chores,
baby responsibility and other stuffs.

It was definitely a night to forget but
for the sake to document this, here are
the reasons why we fought.

Trying to make this post as personal as possible =)
What's important is Luis and I were able to fix it right away and we both
recognized our mistakes
It was our 2nd serious fight ever here in Canada
and I am not looking forward for another one!
I'm just happy for the reason that I appreciate how mature my
partner was being able to control himself and handled
a fight that we never had before.
He is a good man.
I am blessed.

Brielle w/ Her Dress & Shoes

To celebrate my sister-in-law Olive's birthday last on Vday, we had an early lunch at River Rock Hotel: The Buffet Restaurant last Sunday with the rest of the family.  Luis and I both decided to make Brielle wear her spring dress since it already fits her perfectly!  She even wore a matching floral shoes!

Look at my pretty doll! All dressed up in a Sunday morning :)

Kudos Sears Gift Registry

When I checked the mail box the other night, I was surprised when I got something from Sears Richmond Mall.  Details in the envelope was hand written so i thought that it wasn`t just a promotion letter, coupon or flyers which I usually get every week.  When i opened it it was a cute welcome card for Brielle from sears Gift Registry =)

the cute welcome card

I remember signing up but didn`t finish my registry because I registered in Toys R Us instead.  Yet, they still sent me one and It was so sweet of them. =)  I appreciate such efforts like this and it really made my night.  This is just one of the things I like here in Canada -- people always try to find ways how to be thoughtful.  Plus the fact that I usually get superb customer services from most of the stores and poor service is absolutely unacceptable here.

Kudos for you Sears!

Brielle`s Milestone: Turn Towards Sounds and Focus on Objects

My friend Mona told me that it won`t be a good idea to keep carrying Brielle all the time.  She also advised me that it would be best if we`ll get her used to sleeping in the crib as early as now to prevent her from getting spoiled.  As an immigrant I do believe she has a point.  My life is different now, no yaya, no sister to help and no mom to depend on.  With all the household chores and lots of other things to do, as much as I want to spend time with Brielle, it just impossible here in Canada.  So I need every piece of advice on how to maximize my time.

So my husband and I started the routine of putting her back to the crib right after she fell asleep or after she burps.  At first it was hard, but I just found out yesterday that putting a big pillow on her back, giving her the feeling of being elevated prevents her from waking up when she`s on her bed  (she probably thought she was still being carried.... hehehe).

That pillow worked like magic!  I was able to finish my laundry, cooked two meals and I even made a balloon pillar (for her 1st monthsary)!  Then when she woke up for her feeding I was surprised when Brielle just remained silent. I saw her staring at her crib mobile!  Most of the time it won`t take too long before she cries after waking up but yesterday she was following the zebra hanging on top of her! Her first developmental milestone: turn towards the sun and start to focus on objects!  Just right before her first monthsary =)

I can`t wait to see the next milestone she`ll do !
Good job Brie! We`re proud of you!
Time to bring out the play gym!
